Roxie M. Conklin Dies at Hospital
Mrs. Roxie M. Conklin, 77, died at
6:55 p.m. at St. Joseph's Hospital. A
resident of 973 S. Cicott St for many
years, she had been residing for the
past few months with a son, Bernard,
at 1222 Wright St.
Born on March 10, 1888, in Howard county,
she was the daughter of Alva and Mary
(Myers) Prophet.
Survivors are her husband, David; three
sons, Harry, Bernard and Otto, all of this
city; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Raymond Keener
of Anoka; three stepsons, William Shaw of
Miami, Fla.; Clarence Conklin, of this city a
nd Raymond Conklin of Kokomo.
Also surviving are five grandchildren; 13
great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Charles
Conklin, 918 Garfield Ave., and
a brother, Jess Prophet of Rochester.
Friends may call after 7 p.m. tonight at
McCloskey-Hamilton-Kahle Funeral Home. Rites
will be held there at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. The
Rev. G. Chester Morgan will officiate and
burial will be in Davis Cemetery.
