Edith was the daughter of Isaiah R. & Sarah Bell (Gilstrap) Reaser.
She was married to William H. Captain, the son of Thomas Edward & Martha Ellen (Gullet) Captain. Their children were Lula, Edith, Hazel, Clyde, & Frank. Her obituary follows:
"Funeral of Mrs. Captain
The Rev. C.C. Helvey of Miami conducted funeral services for Mrs. William Captain at 2:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the East Side Christian church. The East Side choir furnished music. A large crowd was present to witness the last sacred rites of Mrs. Edith Reece Captain, who passed away Friday evening at 5:30 o'clock at the age of 37 years.
She was born at Tiff City, Mo. She is survived by her husband, William Captain, five children, Lula Marie, 19, Elsie Mae 12, Hazel 6, Clyde 4, and Frank Henry, 20 months old; one sister, Mrs. Hazel Olson of Peoria; one brother, Clyde Reecer of the home. She was ill only a short time. The burial took place in the Captain family cemetery under direction of the Buzzard Undertaking company of Seneca."
