Florence Quartullo, 76, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at home in Hot Springs, SD.

Florence was born on September 6, 1936 to Clifford Abrams and Ethel Watson in Bijou Hills, SD. As a kid, she moved to various locations such as; Interior, SD, Rapid City, Hill City, Tucson, AZ, Mora, MN, and various towns in Wisconsin.

Florence graduated from college in Pima, AZ with a Nursing Assistant degree. She then attended college in Cambridge, MN and received a Human Service Technician Degree. Florence united in marriage to Dominic Quartullo in 1954.

Florence had a passion for gardening. She has received 2 awards from the city of Hot Springs for yard of the week. She loved working with people, being a homemaker, and caring for her family. Florence always had an open heart and an open door for anyone in need. She treated everyone like family.

Survivors include her children, Dominic (Juanita) Quartullo JR. of WI, Gary Quartullo of WI, Kathy (John) Olivas of NE; Karen (Richard) Oliver of Hot Springs, SD, Basil (Sheri)Quartullo of WI, Daniel (Tina) Quartullo of WI; siblings, Dolores (Floyd) Steele Steenberg of Rapid City, Laura Abrams of Rapid City, and Larry (Pearl) Abrams of SC; son-in-law, Chuck Pydynkowski of MN; and 10 grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Dominic Quartullo; one daughter, Lana Pydynkowski, Jean and Bruce Abrams; one granddaughter, Jessie; and her parents.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, August 21 at Southern Hills E. Free Church in Hot Springs, SD. Elder Ken Skorfeth will officiate the service. A private family inurnment will take pilace at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.

A memorial has been established by the family.
