Pahlen, ElaineAnoka - Elayne Pahlen, 81, formerly of Plummer, died Wednesday, June 16, 1999 at her daughter's residence in Anoka.
Private graveside services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 20 at St. Bernard's Catholic Cemetery in Thief River Falls with Father Dennis Weiland officiating. The Green Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Elayne Josephine Brekke was born on March 9, 1918 in Plummer, the daughter of Leonard Oscar and Ella (Peterson) Brekke. She attended school in Plummer. Elayne married Leo Pahlen and worked as a beautician for many years.
Survivors include two sons, Bob (Bev) Pahlen of Plummer and Rick Pahlen of Anoka; four daughters, Darlene "Dolly" (Larry) Shetler of Thief River Falls, Peg Chmielewski of Blaine, and Mary Maas and Karen (David) Peterson, both of Anoka. 15 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; three sisters, Ruth (Morris) Perrault of Bellingham, WA, Lillian Fournier of Chinook, MT, and DeLores Donarski of Grand Forks, ND; three brothers, Leonard (Vivian) Brekke of Thief River Falls, Donny (Gail) Brekke of Plummer and LeRoy (Lila) Brekke of Mesa, AZ.
Elayne was preceded in death by her husband, Leo; one daughter, Theresa; one son, Dale; her parents; and three brothers, Walter, Joe and Willmar. A00003B1999JN23
