Published in The Carlisle County Journal, 7 September 1967 - James Daniel (Jack) Abernathy, 47, died Tuesday, Sept. 5 at Lourdes Hospital, Paducah. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.

He as a member of the Bandana Baptist Church and a veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Griffith Abernathy; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James W. Abernathy; 3 daughters, Linda Kay Abernathy, Mrs. Glenda Brown and Mrs. Barbara Cargill; son Jackie Ray Abernathy; sister, Mrs. Gene Chapman; 5 brothers, Bud, Jerry, Bob, Bill Ray and Arman Abernathy; and 11 grandchildren.
