A Sad Case of Sudden Death.
Only Sunday last, a little boy, son of A. J. McCabe, four years of age, died after a few hours sickness. The sudden death of the child was a sad bereavement to the family, and especially to the mother of Mr. McCabe, an old lady living in his family. She took the death of her grandson greatly to heart, and Monday before the funeral, several times made the expression that it was sad that the child just entering life should be snatched away, while she, old and decrepit was left to live on.
While the family were at supper, the members were startled by a sharp cry from Mrs. McCabe, and at the same time horrified to see the blood spurt from her mouth in a great stream. The aged lady fell over and immediately expired, death having ensued from hemorrhage. Preparations for one funeral, were changed to arrangements for two, and Tuesday the funerals of grandmother and grandson were preached at the Baptist church, and their remains were laid side by side in two graves in Oakwood cemetery.

Note: Sunday, April 2, 1876 A. J. McCabe's son died. A. J. McCabe is Andrew J. McCabe.
Monday, April 3, 1876 Catherine Wagner McCabe (Andrew J. McCabe's mother) died.
