Funeral services for Agnes E. Zoubek of Montgomery were held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 18 at the church of the Most Holy Redeemer in Montgomery. The Rev. Gerald Schunk celebrated the Mass of Christian Burial and Karen Pittman and Bonnie Zoubek, granddaughter of the deceased, gave the Readings. Offertory gifts were presented by Mark Kotek, Timmy Pittman, Tracy Pittman, and Kristine Kotek, great-grandchildren. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers were Marvin Kotek, Steven Zoubek, Greg Pittman, Donald Rynda, Bob Zoubek and Ray Slavik.
Agnes E. Slavik was born June 29, 1903 n Montgomery Township, Le Sueur County, to Joseph and Anna Polak Slavik. She attended rural school. On October 27, 1924 she was united in marriage to James Zoubek at Holy Redeemer Church in Montgomery by the late Rev. Emil Polasek. Following their marriage they made their home in Montgomery. Her husband passed away May 21, 1970 and she continued to live alone until four years ago when she became a resident at Mala strana Nursing Home, New Prague, where she passed away on Monday, July 15, at the age of 82 years.
She was a member of the Holy Redeemer Altar and Rosary Society.
Survivors include one son, Lloyd Zoubek of Golden Valley, and a daughter, Mrs. James (Erma) Kotek of Montgomery; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bessie Rynda and Mary Janovsky, both of Montgomery; one brother, Bill Slavik of Faribault. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four brothers, Jim, Frank, Tom and Joe Slavik, and one great-grandson, Bob Kotek.
