Daniel W. Merrell, 52, of the Greasy Creek community, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 28, 2013.

He was preceded in death by his dad, J.C. Merrell.

Survivors include his mother, Nellene Bates Merrell; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Clifford Merrell and his wife, Waynette, of Greasy Creek, and Jeffery Merrell and his wife, Cynthia, of Tellico Plains; one sister and brother-in-law, Letitia White and her husband, Wayne, of Etowah; nieces and nephews, Jessica and Yancy Carringer, Zackary Merrell, Brandon White and Alyssa Merrell; and several aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at New Fairview Cemetery in Greasy Creek.

Pallbearers will be Greg Burgess, Greg Merrell, Joe Coblentz, Donald Wilcox, Johnny Wilcox, Mitchell Dalton and Chuck Burgess.

Serenity Funeral Home of Etowah is in charge of arrangements.
