Norma graduated from Parkersburg High School, located in Parkersburg, Wood County, West Virginia on Jan 26, 1923. She was baptized at the Dudley Avenue Baptist Church on May 5th, 1918 in Parkersburg. She married Arley Ellison Griffin on December 15, 1929 in Parkersburg. After having three children with Norma, Arley left the family. Norma raised her children on her own. On January 24th, 1949, Norma became a member of the Dudley Avenue Church. After her children reached adulthood, she and her youngest daughter, Carolyn Jean Griffin, moved to Sacramento California at the invitation of Norma's cousin, Margaret Fern Walters Sherick. Norma, or Grammy as she preferred, lived the remainder of her days in Sacramento County. She died at the Roseville Community Hospital in Roseville, California of Sepsis caused by a fungal infection, pneumonia, diabetes mellitus and senility. She remained faithful to her Lord and Savior throughout her life and was dearly loved by all who had the privileged to have known her.
