Archibald was a 19 year-old Cordwainer from Marblehead, MA, when he enlisted on July 5, 1861 and was mustered that same day. He was taken prisoner at Petersburg, VA on June 22, 1864 and died at Andersonville on August 19, 1864 due to Chronic Diarrhea.
