Harry L Wehrly, 67, 3813 Devonshire, Midland, Mich, died at home Monday, Sept. 23, after a long illness.

Mr Wehrly was born Aug 24, 1907, in Nappanee. Attending schools there, he graduated from Alma College in 1932.

He taught school at Clare, Mich, and married the former Margaret Doherty Feb 5, 1937, in Goshen.

He moved to Midland, Mich, in 1943, joining the plastics department of Dow Chemical Company. He retired in 1972 as manager of quality assurance.

Mr Wehrly was active in boy scout work, receiving the Silver Beaver award, the highest given to adult leaders. He was also a member of the city parks and recreation commission for the past eight years, a member of the Midland Elks Club and active in the American Society for Quality Control.

Surviving in addition to his wife are six sons, one daughter, one sister, Mrs Robert Bechtel, Wakarusa and two grandchildren.

Services were held at 11 am Wednesday, Sept 25, at St John's Episcopal Church with the Rev William Schrock officiating. Burial was in Midland Cemetery.
