He was born in Wirt County. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of First Baptist Church, Grantsville.
Surviving are his wife, Zelda Bell Headley; three sons, Earl S. Headley of Grantsville, Elbert L. Headley of Smithville and Delbert R. Headley of Macfarlan; and two daughters, Ruth O. Barrett of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Sophia E. Bacorn of Harrisville.
Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev. Lewis Villers officiating. Burial was in McCray Cemetery, Creston.
