GLENNVILLE - Linda Durrence Banks, 78, passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro.
She was born in Claxton on August 15, 1934 to Ivy and Dorothy Bacon Durrence and was a graduate of Glennville High School where she was a two-time, all-state basketball player.
She had lived in Ft. Lauderdale Florida for many years before moving back to Glennville.
She was a homemaker, a licensed practical nurse and a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She was a member of Beards Creek Primitive Baptist Church.
She is survived by, Husband: Ed Banks of Glennville; Children: Eddie Banks of Richmond Hill Lynn B. Kicklighter of Glennville; Sisters: Carolyn and Talmadge Todd LeGay and Bobby Fuller all of Glennville; Brother: Ronnie and Bytha Durrence of Glennville; 2 Granddaughters: Julie and Clay Todd and Jenna Cowart and Justin Haskins; Great-Grandchildren: Colt Todd McKenley Haskins and Jaxon Haskins.
Visitation will begin at 5:30 p.m., Friday afternoon, July 26, 2013 at Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home in Glennville.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 27, 2013 at Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow in Beards Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
