Mrs. Eva Van Leeuwen, age 96, of Orange City died Friday, March 22, 1996 at the Orange City Hospital.
A graveside service was held on Tuesday, March 26 at 1:30 p.m. at the West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City. The Rev. Cornie Keunen officiated. The Van Etten-Oolman-Van Gelder Funeral Home of Orange City was in charge of arrangements.
Eva was born July 31, 1899 at Rock Valley, the daughter of Wein and Ida (Vander Stoep) Van Oort. She was raised at Rock Valley and at Edgerton, Minn.
On May 17, 1924 she married Morris Van Leeuwen. They made their home in Orange City. Mr. Van Leeuwen died July 31, 1966 at Orange City.
In 1993, Mrs. Van Leeuwen became a resident of the Pleasant Acres Care Center in Hull. She was a member of the First Reformed Church in Orange City.
Survivors include her son and his wife, Don and Faye Van Leeuwen of LeMars; seven grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; and two sisters, Kay De Vries and Artie Peterson.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry and Floyd Van Oort.
