Asa Oilar Dies of Heart Attack At Home Near Battle Ground

MONTICELLO, Ind. — Asa Eugene Oilar, 77, died of a heart attack Monday morning at his home near Battle Ground. Born Nov. 28, 1873, he was the son of James and Sarah (Haynes) Oilar. He was married to Daisy May, Nov. 19, 1898. He spent his entire life as a farmer near Brookston. Surviving are: the wife; three sons, Ben, Jack and Eugene, of Brookston, and seven daughters, Mrs. Elva Sterret, Mrs. Max Harrington, Mrs. Harold Hague, all of Brookston: Mrs. Ralph Overley and Mrs. Harry Bowerman, of Lafayette; Mrs. Floyd Sewell, of Kokomo; Mrs. Jack Jewett, Niagara Falls, New York; one brother, Ben Oilar, Camby, Oregon. Friends may call at the Thompson funeral home at Brookston after 1 p.m. Tuesday. Last services will be Wednesday at 2 P-m- at the funeral home. Burial will be at Cairo cemetery, three miles southwest of Brookston.
