Mrs. Geraldine L. (Oilar) Harrington, 65, of Rte. 1, died at 11:45 p.m. Monday in Lafayette Home Hospital where she had been admitted a short time earlier following an apparent heart attack.
She was born in Tippecanoe County, and graduated from Tippecanoe Jefferson High School in 1923. She attended Indiana Central Normal College, and was married to Max S. Harrington in 1935.
Mrs. Harrington taught school for 30 years--teaching the fifth grade.
She was a member of the Federated Church of Brookston and Psi Iota Xi sorority, also of Brookston.
Surviving with the husband are her mother, Mrs. Daisy Oilar of Rt. 1, Battle Ground; three brothers, Eugene "Jiggs" and Warren "Jack" Oilar, both of Chalmers, and Benjamin Oilar of Brookston; and six sisters, Mrs. Alva Sterrett and Mrs. Harold Hague, both of Brookston, Mrs. Ralph Overely and Mrs. Lela Sewell, both of Rt. 1, Battle Ground, Mrs. Harry Bowerman, Rt. 11, Lafayette, and Mrs. Jack Jewett of Tonawanda, N.Y.

Harrington, Mrs. Geraldine L. (Oilar) -- Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Thompson and Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston. Services at 2 p.m. Thursday in Federated Church of Brookston, the Rev. Duncan MacNab officiating. Body will lie in state at church for one hour before services. Burial in Tippecanoe Memory Gardens. Friends so desiring may contribute in memoriam to the Brookston Federated Church Memorial Fund.
