LA MARQUE — Joseph Epler, Jr., 83, of La Marque, passed away Thursday, June 30, 2011, in Texas City.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 6, at Emken-Linton Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Grace Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6 – 8 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home.

Mr. Epler was born August 7, 1927, in Texas City to parents Joseph E. Epler Sr. and Kathleen Epler. Joe proudly served in the Air Force for 21 years. He retired from Monsanto Chemical after 31 years. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.

He was predeceased by his parents, his sister Bernice Pace and her husband Harry.

Survivors include his wife, Sally Lou Epler; sons Dwayne Epler and wife Sherry of Texas City, Randy Epler and wife Dee of Alvin; daughter Ramona Wadding and husband Donald of Texas City; four grandchildren, Heather and Amanda Epler, Amy and Adam Wadding; brother Raymond Epler of Texas City; numerous other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grace United Methodist Church or a charity of your choice.
