The following obituary was copied from the July 9, 2013 issue of the Malone Evening Telegram:

Neal Scott

Neal Raeburn Scott, 91, of Malone, NY, died July 6, 2013, at the Alice Hyde Medical Center. Born in North Burke, NY, June 16, 1922, he was the son of Walter and Hattie Ristau Scott.

Mr. Scott was a World War II veteran serving in the US Army Air Corps. He was a lifelong dairy farmer as well as owning and operating a Clay Barn Equipment dealership. He was a member of the North Burke Presbyterian Church, Cooperative Extension, and the Farm Bureau.

On January 4, 1946, he married the former Marie Ann Hammill in Notre Dame Rectory. She predeceased him.

He is survived by four sons and two daughters-in-law, Wayne Scott of Malone, NY, William and Karen Scott of Constable, NY, Paul Scott of Malone, NY, and Charles and Ann Scott of Constable, NY; and six daughters and six sons-in-law, Penny and John Perun of Manlius, NY, Kay and James Dyer of Seneca Falls, NY, Anne and Theodore Zerniak of Constable, NY, Sally and Gene Cross of Hannawa Falls, NY, Mary and Terry Moore of Malone, NY, and Laurel and Steven Alexander of Ithaca, NY. He also leaves behind 25 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren who were very dear to him.

He was predeceased by his wife; brothers Cyril, Bruce, George, Harold, Leonard, John, and Kenneth; 4 sisters, Evelyn Mincey, Eunice Manning, Marion and Nina Scott; 2 grandsons, John Paul and Matthew Scott; and 1 grandchild, Matthew Caldwell.

Friends and family may call at the Spaulding Funeral Home on Tuesday at 10 a.m., until the funeral service in the funeral home at 12 p.m. Interment will follow in the North Burke Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to the Spaulding Funeral Home, Inc. of Malone, NY.

The funeral service for Neil Scott, who dies July 6, 2013, was held at the Spaulding Funeral Home on Tuesday, with the Reverend Peter Bortz presiding. The pallbearers were his grandchildren, Zachary Zerniak, Richard Brand, Tim and Danny Scott, Adam Moore, and Trevor Scott. Military rights were conducted at graveside by the Veterans Firing Squad; Commander Nick Eggink, Chaplain Earl Lavoie, bugler Joe Cartwright, and squad members Bud Emond, Peter Carvallas, Bob Smith, Darrell Lintner, and Don Grogan. Interment was in the North Burke Cemetery.
