A homemaker who had lived in the area since 1937, Helen L. Spain, 82, died Saturday, January 15, 1994, in a local care center. Mrs. Spain lived in the Woodland area from 1937 to 1950 and then moved to Vancouver.
She was born August 29, 1911 in Cle Elum, Washington and graduated from Wapato High School. She enjoyed flowers, doing yardwork and playing the piano. Her husband, Archie, died in 1977.
She is survived by one daughter, Anita Spain of Vancouver. A funeral will begin at 1 p.m., Wednesday at Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel. A graveside service will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at Tahoma Cemetery in Yakima.
