Hubert Williams, age 82, of Woodlawn, died, Thursday, July 18, 2013.

He was born July 7, 1931 in Rison, a son of the late Holland Williams and Ruth Harris Williams.

Mr. Williams graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1950. He enjoyed fishing, sports and was formerly active in coaching softball. Mr. Williams also enjoyed working in his garden and yard, but most of all; he loved spending time with his family. He retired from the Cotton Belt, Southern Pacific Railroad where he was a training officer in the car department.

Mr. Williams was a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.

He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Elvalee Owen and Laverne Small.

Mr. Williams is survived by his wife, Patsy Sue Wilson Williams of Woodlawn; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Naomi Williams of Woodlawn; two daughters and sons-in-law, Glenda and Wayne Mullkin of Woodlawn, Lisa and Daron Burns of Star City; brother, Dwain Williams of Woodlawn; six grandchildren, Amber Castleberry, Megan Mullkin, Marty Williams, Leslie Dillard, Ashley Guffey and Brianna Burns; five great grandchildren, Kallie Smith, Tyler James, Kolby Williams, Aidan Castleberry and Addison Castleberry.

Funeral services are 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 22, 2013 at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Matt Donnell, Brother William Ashcraft and Mr. Aaron Burns officiating.

Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery.

Visitation is 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, July 21, 2013 at Buie Funeral Home in Rison.

Pallbearers are Billy Rex Morrison, Thomas White, Steve L. Williams, Chuck Valentine, David Williams and Bob White.

Nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
