CUMBERLAND, MD-Levada P. Carney, 87, of Cumberland, passed away on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at the Golden Living Center. Born September 11, 1923 in Cumberland, she was the daughter of Azariah and Mary Elizabeth (Anderson) Humbertson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Eugene Carney, Sr.; two sons. Edward Carney and Thomas Eugene Carney,Jr. and four brothers, Albert, Ace, Earl and Raymond Humberston. Mrs. Carney retired from the Celanese Corporation, Cumberland. Surviving are her daughter, Mary Catherine Kesner and husband Bill, Cumberland; one son, Robert A. Carney, Frederick; one sister, Catherine (Humberston) Johnson, Cumberland; three grandchildren; Bruce W. Carney; Beth A. Carney; Shayanne Hare Detrick and husband Chris; two great-grandchildren, Austin Detrick; Thomas A. Carney; daughter-in-law, Barb Carney; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, (www.scarpellifuneralhomes.com) on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Larry Green officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
