Ashlyn Kayla Skinner, 5, died Saturday, July 16, 2005, in Hoover, Alabama.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Thursday at Bridges Funeral Home in Gray. Funeral services will be held at 11A.M., Friday, July 22, 2005, at Bradley Baptist Church, with burial at Cedar Ridge Cemetery in Gray. Rev. Steve Johnson will officiate.

Born on March 19, 2000, in Macon, Ashlyn had lived the past two years in Hoover. She attended the Kinder Kare Learning Center and loved to color and give pictures to friends and family, especially to her older brother Travis. Ashlyn loved to play dress-up and when playing school, she was always the teacher. When visiting her grandparents house, she loved to leave with a sack of candy.

Ashlyn is survived by her parents, Regan Skinner and Brandee Skinner of Gray; brother, Travis Sargent of Gray; grandparents, Hugh Skinner and Jimmy and Sandee Whitaker, all of Gray; and her great-grandparents, Paul and Lois Moncrief of Gray and Betty Hamilton of Ft. Valley. -The family may be contacted at the residence of Hugh Skinner at 235 Old Highway 18 in Gray and the residence of Jimmy and Sandee Whitaker at 219 Wheeler Road in Gray. -Bridges Funeral Home in Gray has charge of arrangements.

Ashlyn and her brother BRYSON were recovered from a car that sank in the Cahaba River strapped to their seats, but it was still unclear how the car left the road and plunged into the water on Saturday, police said.

They were deeply loved and will be missed.
