She was born Sept. 27, 1924, at McPherson County, the daughter of Walter Mowbray and Gladys Ava Pancost. She graduated from McPherson High School in 1942. A resident of Galva, she worked in the meat department at Howard and Jennie's Market and co-owned and operated Unruh Locker Plant, Galva.
She belonged to Galva Christian Church, Go-Getters Club, Senior Center, and Christian Women's Fellowship, all at Galva, Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, and was a volunteer for the Save-n-Share Store, both at McPherson.
On Oct. 25, 1942, she married Leland Unruh at McPherson. He survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Randall, Galva; a daughter, Sandra Unruh, Galva; two brothers, Clinton Mowbray, Canton, and G. Duane Mowbray, McPherson; a sister, Ava Chamberlain, Falls Church, Va.; thee grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Marjorie Blair and Anna Belle Barnes.
Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Empire Cemetery, Galva
