Fort Bend Herald, July 16, 2013:

Burial will follow in Davis-Greenlawn Cemetery, Rosenberg, TX. Visitation will be 5-7:00 PM Monday, July 15, 2013, at Garmany & Carden Funeral Directors Chapel, 1201 Fourth Street, Rosenberg, TX 77471.

Willie Odessa (Dinah) Ford Thielemann went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, July 12th at 9:05 pm after suffering a sudden stroke that morning. Dinah didn't like her given name, Willie, which was given to her by her father, naming her after a favorite Aunt of his. Friends and family knew her as Dinah nearly since birth, which was on January 6, 1930. She was born in the piney woods of East Texas between Livington and Woodville. She was 83 years young at her passing.

Dinah had worked as a switchboard operator for Bell Telephone Company in Bay Town before she became the devoted wife of Robert Lewis Thielemann. After the loss of their new born daughter, Paula Lynn, Robert and Dinah adopted two little girls, Julia and Rhonda. The Lord then blessed them with a son, Phillip Wayne, a few years later. Dinah was a devoted farmer's wife and mother for many years while her children grew into adulthood. She also cared for her Mother-in-Law, Julia Thielemann, who lived in a trailer next to their home for many years. She taught Sunday School and led the song service at First Assembly of God Church for many years. Many friends remember her for her tender heart and giving nature.

Later in life Dinah worked as the switchboard operator for the Richmond State School, where she retired after nearly 15 years of service. Her last job was caring for her ailing husband, Robert Thielemann, until his passing on June 27, 2007.

During the last few years she suffered with Alzheimers, but still kept her sense of humor and loving personality. She moved into the wonderful caring hands of the SPJST in Needville in September of 2010.

Dinah was preceded in death by her husband Robert Thielemann, daughter Paula Lynn Thielemann, and sister Edna Griffith.

She is survived by her children Julia Danette Nabors, Rhonda Jean Thielemann and Phillip Wayne Thielemann, as well as her sisters, Jessie Allred, Margie Kirkpatrick and Joyce Polk.

Memorials may be given in her memory to First Assembly of God Church in Rosenberg, TX, or to the American Cancer Society.

The family wishes to express their thanks to SPJST for their loving care, and also to Garmany & Carden Funeral Home for their faithful care of our family these many years.
