Carl L. Emmons, 83, of Fostoria, died March 25, 2013, at Fostoria Community Hospital. He was born Jan. 24, 1930, in Kansas, Ohio, to Herman and Ora Christina (Hull) Emmons. He married Geraldine B. Hunt Jan. 25, 1953, and she died May 9, 2008. Surviving are five children, Elwood L. Emmons of Findlay, Rebecca "Becky" (Mark) Cooper of Tiffin, Cynthia "Cindy" J. Martinez and Pamela "Pam" K. (Frank) Sebastian, both of Bradenton, Fla., and Anita J. Sanchez of Fostoria; 19 grandchildren; 56 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren; companion, Donna Aspden of Fostoria; brother, Garold "Jack" (Shirley) Emmons of Fostoria; and sister, Violet (Bob) Bond of Defiance. He also was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Kathy Lynn Emmons. Carl was a Korean War veteran, having served in both the United States Army and the United States Navy. Visitation is 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday, March 28, 2013, at Hoening Funeral Home, 242 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria.
His funeral will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. Donald Goodwin presiding. Burial will follow at Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria, with military honors provided by the United Veterans of Fostoria. Memorial contributions are requested to the Emmons family.
