He was born July 20, 1921 in Snover, Michigan son to the late Allen and Clarissa (Johnson) Baer.
He served in the U.S. Army Air core during WWII where he was a P.O.W. for six months.
Wayne married Phyllis McMann August 31, 1946 in Marlette, Michigan.
He worked for Guerdon Industry in Marlette for 18 years and also farmed.
He was survived by his wife Phyllis Baer, three sons: Ralph and Sandy Baer of Columbiaville, MI; Paul and Cheryl Baer of Carsonville, MI; Dennis and Kimberly Baer of MI; grandson: Corey Baer of Deckerville, MI, grand daughter: Melissa Baer of Marlette, MI; one brother: Clayton and Betty Baer of Snover, MI; two sisters: Alice Hudson of Marlette, MI; Bessie and Elden Phetteplace of Sandusky, MI.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Wilford, George, and Clare Baer and sisters Ida Allen and Vera Young.
