Arthur Clark

Arthur H. Clark, 86 of Arabia, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2013, at King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky. The Gallia County native was born Oct. 6, 1926, the son of the late Oscar and Mabel Clark. He is preceded in death by his wife, Alice "Fern" Arbaugh Clark whom he married July 17, 1944.

Mr. Clark attended Gallia County Schools and was a World War II Army veteran. He was a grinder for the Ironton Iron Company for 50 years and he attended Myrtle Tree Baptist Church and was a member of VFW Post #8850.

In addition to his wife and parents he is preceded in death by a son, Donald Clark; a granddaughter, Sue Dawn Clark; a grandson, Patrick Hamrick; a brother, David Clark; a infant brother, Donald Clark; and three sisters, Gladys Mooney, Bernice Gardener, and Ethel Thivener

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Nancy Clark of Arabia; two sisters, Alice Gothard of Gallipolis and Doris Ruth Quinn of Columbus; a brother, Randall Clark of Dayton; 10 grandchildren, Dora and Shawn Myers of Patriot, Joe and Emily Clark of Arabia, Alicia Hamrick of Arabia, Wayne "Bub" Clark of Patriot, Brian Clark of Ironton, Shawn and Missy Clark of Ironton, Bendy and Randi Hawks of Vinton, Todd Clark of Patriot, Chuck and Rhonda Clark of Arabia, and Kelly Clark of Kitts Hill; 12 great grandchildren, Adam Clark, Sammy Myers, Shawna Myers and Jordan, Emory Josiah Clark, Austin Clark, Megan Clark, Derrek Pemberton, Miranda Clark, Kendra Clark, Donnie Clark, James Clark, and Brittany Clark.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Homewith Pastor Bob Dudding officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the VFW Post #8850. Burial will follow in Bradshaw Cemetery.
