Peggy Joan Thomas, 83, of Wabash, Indiana, died at 11:50 a.m. Sunday, July 7, 2013 at Coventry Meadows in Fort Wayne. She was born April 25, 1930 in Wabash, to Arthur J. and Edith Elizabeth (Story) Moore.

Peggy was a 1948 graduate of Wabash High School, and was a homemaker. She married Andrew Jackson Thomas in Wabash on March 7, 1953; he died October 12, 1996. She was a member of the Wabash Christian Church and a longtime member of the Wabash Country Club. Peggy served on the Board of Directors of the Wabash Valley Dance Theater many years. She enjoyed playing tennis and bridge, and was a fabulous cook. She also enjoyed working crossword puzzles, spending time on Lake Wawasee, and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family and attending their sporting events.

She is survived by 4 children, Nancy (Ron) Orman of Fort Wayne, Jill (Don) Cox of Tampa, Florida, Jack (Erin) Thomas of Wabash, and Tracy (Matt) Kocks of Fort Wayne; 9 grandchildren, Megan Garcia of Fort Wayne, Kelly (Kris) Verra of Tampa, Andrew (Richelle) Orman and Tom Kocks, both of Fort Wayne, Kelsie Thomas and Lyndsie Thomas, both of Wabash, Nick Kocks of Fort Wayne, Ayden Kocher and Ethan Kocher, both of Wabash; 2 great-grandchildren, Caine & Cameron Verra of Tampa; sister, Markey Weaver of Louisville, Kentucky; and brother, John Moore of Atlanta, Georgia.

Memorial services will be held at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Ave., Wabash on Friday, July 12, 2013 at 10:00 a.m with Rev. Melinda Kammerer officiating. Burial will be in Falls Cemetery at a later date. Family will receive friends 4-8 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.

Preferred memorial is Honeywell House of Wabash.
