Rudolph J. Saporite, Jr., 55, a resident of Hopewell Junction for 34 years and formerly of Torrington, CT, died suddenly on Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
Born on January 23, 1954 in Torrington, CT, he was the son of Elaine DeDominicis Saporite of Torrington, CT and the late Rudolph J. Saporite, Sr. He was employed as an Optic Specialist for IBM in East Fishkill for 34 years until his retirement in 2007. Rudy was a past president and member of Joe DiMaggio Lodge #2248, Sons of Italy, a member of the Pirate Canoe Club, and a member of the Honda CRV Car Club.
On March 8, 1980 at St. Denis Church in Hopewell Junction, Rudy married Michele Gallo who survives at home. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his sons, Jason and Jared Coschignano of Hopewell Junction, Rudy J. Saporite, III of Hopewell Junction and Paul Saporite of Thorton, CO; his sisters, Valerie Hutchinson of Torrington, CT, Joan Nickerson of Meriden, CT, Carolyn Signorile of San Clemente, CA and Christine Melchione of Manhasset; his grandchildren, Anthony Moray, Sofia Rose Saporite and a grandson who is due to arrive this month; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Calling hours were held at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial with interment at St. Denis Cemetery.
