Mrs. Knight died on Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, in The Hospice of East Texas HomePlace in Tyler. She was born on May 20, 1921, in Meridian, Miss., to William Henry and Louraine Evans Cabler. She was formerly of Fort Worth before moving to Hideaway 35 years ago. Mrs. Knight was a member of Hideaway Lake Community Church where she was a member of the Ladies Bible Class and was an avid Mah Jongg player. She was also a member of the Hideaway Ladies 9 hole and 18 hole golf association.
Mrs. Knight was preceded in death by husbands, Robert Smith Atwood and Albert "Junior" Smith; her brother, William Henry Cabler Jr.; and a sister, Martha Ann Switzer.
She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Carolyn Atwood of Hideaway; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Ken Clasen of Hideaway; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
