FUNERAL FRIDAY AT HIGH HILL FOR BROWN; WALKED IN FRONT OF CAR
Pontotoc county's list of highway accident fatalities was boosted by one more about 10 o'clock Wednesday night when Charley Brown, 30, Indian living near Union Valley, was struck by an automobile at the edge of Stonewall and instantly killed.
Craig Harper, driver of the car, was absolved of all blame by officers who investigated the accident. Brown having been reported as walking onto the highway directly in front of Harper's car.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at High Hill. Brown is survived by a sister, Mrs. Lucy Smith, and a brother, Scott Brown. His father, Levi Brown, died a few weeks ago.
Harper is operator of a filling station at Stonewall.
Officers investigating the fatal accident included Roy Keller, Ada police chief, and Paul Corbin, officer.
