MARION, Va. — Mrs. Lila Harbuck Martin, 83, formerly of Americus, died Saturday afternoon Feb. 10, 2007, at Smyth County Community Hospital in Marion, Va. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today, Tuesday Feb. 13, at the chapel of Aldridge Funeral Services at with the Rev. Houston Berry and Curt Harbuck officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Monday evening Feb. 12, and will receive them at other times at the family residence. 81 Addy.s Dairy Road, Preston.

Mrs. Martin was a native of Chattahoochee County, Cusseta, but had lived most of her life in Americus. She was born Nov. 19, 1923, the daughter of the late Bryan Gibson and Kate Land Gibson. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.

Mrs. Martin is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law; Frank Harbuck and Mary of Preston, and Bobby Harbuck and Adella of Chilhowie, Va. Also surviving are four brothers and sisters-in-law; Herman Gibson and Dixie of Buena Vista, Andrew Gibson and Diane of Ocilla,Bud Gibson of Lake Sinclair and Gene Gibson of Bonaire. Twenty grandchildren, a number of great-grandchildren and great- great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews also survive. Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her late husband, James Curtis Harbuck, and a son, James Harbuck.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Cheek Memorial Baptist Church C/O Youth Fund, 1705 Crawford St., Americus, GA 31709.
