BEN ESCAJEDA, ONCE COURT CLERK, DIES
Succumbs to Long Illness; Funeral Thursday

Ben Escajeda, former clerk of the Corporation Court, died at his home, 507 Park St., after an illness of about a year. He was 41.

Mr. Escajeda was court clerk for 10 years, ending his service in June 1933.

Mr. Escajeda was a member of a pioneer El Paso family. He was born in San Elizario. His parents moved to El Paso and he had lived here ever since.

Funeral services will be held in the St. Ignatius Church at 8:30 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Fr. Silvano Pratt officiating. Burial will be in the family plot in Evergreen under direction of the Kaster & Maxon Mortuary.

Mr. Escajeda is survived by his widow, Mrs. Esperanza Escajeda; two sons, Ben Jr., and Ricardo; two daughters, Guadalupe and Ermina; his parents; Mr. and Mrs. Manuel Escajeda; and by three brothers, Pedro R., and Luis Escajeda, El Paso, Moises, of Richmond, Cal.
