His obituary was in the Sun Newspaper on 9 Sep 1912:

LORENZ--On September 7, 1912, JOSEPH, beloved son of Markus and Marie.

Funeral from his late residence, 1427 Stevenson street, on Tuesday morning, at 8:30 A.M., thence to Holy Cross Church, where a Requiem Mass will be said at 9 o'clock. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery.

I was told that he died after he went swimming in the Inner Harbor. He contracted Typhoid Fever.
