1843-1907
Thomas Walker died at his home quite unexpectedly yesterday morning at 9 o'clock. He had arisen from his bed, saying he felt tired, and was sitting in this chair when he expired. Grip and heart failure, the doctor says, was the immediate cause of his death, although he had been in failing health for more than three years.
The deceased was born at Madrid St. Lawrence county. New York, Dec 18, 1843. He came to River Falls in 1868, where he had since made his residence. On Jan. 30, 1873 he married Miss Eliza Scruton at Madrid, N.Y. returning with his wife to this place, where he has always been engaged in farming and quarrying rock for commercial purposes.
Mr. Walker was a man of quiet, unobtrusive ways, of strict integrity, a good neighbor, ever ready to accommodate. He leaves a wife, and two children - William Walker and Mrs. William J. Williams, both of this place.
The funeral is held from the family residence Friday at 2 o'clock p.m. Rev. D. B. Spencer in charge of the services, and the remains will be interred in Greenwood Cemetery.
