Barbara James, 74, of Hixson, died Sunday, June 30, 2013, at her home.Mrs. James was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga and retired from Dr. Lee Arnolds office with 32 years of service. She attended Hixson Presbyterian Church and was an avid sports fan.She was a daughter of the late, James Clifford and Bess Marler Thomas and was also preceded in death by her husband, McDowell Wellington James; and a nephew, Michael James Thomas.Survivors include her son, Steve (Sarah) James; grandchildren, Clint James and Celina James; brother, James L. (Dorothy) Thomas; and niece, Janie (Don) Gray.Funeral services will be held noon today, July 2, in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Robert Johnson officiating. Interment will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens
