William was pioneer to the New River area.

He is believed to be buried here on his property obtained from his Rev War Captain: Enoch Osborne.
The document exists in family.
The cemetery has been used ever since.

He married Kissiah last name unknown.
She is named in will "Dear Wife Kisiah"

His lineage as we know it now:
Father Thomas Landreth b. 1700 of Augusta Cty Va
married in 1730-35 unknown lady McKindley/McKinley,

Grandfather Oliver Landreth b. 1672 of Scotland,

Great grdpa Cuthbert Landreth b. 1630 of England,

Great grdpa x 2 Patrick Landreth of England.

William's brother Nathaniel b. 1760 (married Mary aka Polly Grayson) came with William to current Alleghany County (was Ashe) NC.

Thomas came to America and lived in Maryland and Rowan County NC before ending up in Alleghany.

Children:
Stephen Sr, who got home place. married Jane unknown last name. It is often said to be CREEK and native amer. Often said to be CHEEK a local name. Most likely CHEEK.
He got a looking glass. Does anyone have it?

Jane Landreth Baldwin died in Missouri or Indiana. BALDWINS also pioneered this area.

Thomas Landreth, got land where he lived when first married.

David/Daniel Landreth. DANIEL in will. 100 acres next to William's land. Maybe Negro By Branch which is on old maps near modern PEGGY HALSEY bridge.

William Landreth Jr, got william sr's home place after kissiah died.

Sarah Linch/Lynch ( Landreth), got 2 sheep

Abigail Blevins ( Landreth), got 2 sheep

Lydia aka Liddie Landreth, got 2 sheep and 1 heifer

WILL
In the name of God amen I William Landreth of Ashe County and state of North Carolina being weak in body but of sound memory blessed be God--Do this 4th? day of April in the year 1801 make and publish this my last will and testament, in manner following, that is to say,
first I give to my dear wife Kisiah Landreth all my household goods except one looking glass. Do give and bequeath to my wife two cows by the names of Blackey and Silk and all my hogs and my horse and saddle and all my working tools and all my sheep excepting ten.
Also I give to my son Stephen Landreth the land and plantation where he now lives and a looking glass. Also I give to my son Thomas Landreth a tract of land where he lived when first married.
Also I give to my son Daniel Landreth one hundred acres of land adjoining the land where I now live it being on a crick Cootes? the Negro boy.
Also I give to my son William Jr Landreth the plantation where I now live at the decease of his mother and a mare two years old.
Also I give and bequeath to my daughter Sarah Linch two sheep.
Also I give to my daughter Abigail Blevins two sheep.
Also I give to my daughter Jane Baldwin two sheep.
Also I give to my daughter Liddy Landreth two sheep and a two year old heifer.
Also I give unto my daughter Rebecca Landreth two sheep and a two year old heifer.
Also I hereby constitute and appoint Enoch Osborne as? sole executor of this my last will and testament and empower him to collect all debts owing to me and to sell two entreys of land and what cattle and other property I may have at the time of my decease, and to pay all my just debts out of the property so sold. I mean what cattle and property is not willed away as above, and what balance there may be is to be equally divided among my five daughters.
