Zona F. Grave. Born March 13, 1918 in Tenstrike, the daughter of Roy W. and Inez Booth. She attended school in Tenstrike and then Blackduck High School, where she graduated as valedictorian in 1934. She attended French's Business College in Bemidji.

She worked for Beltrami County in the treasurer's office until her marriage April 25, 1945, to Herbert W. Grave in Sisseton, S.D. Her husband started Herb's Popcorn June 9, 1938, when he purchased a second-hand wagon. She later became known as "The Popcorn Lady," as she and the Herb's Popcorn wagon became familiar to tourists in downtown Bemidji. While her husband was still alive, she was also employed as a dental assistant for Dr. Roy Bengtson in Bemidji, a job she held for 25 years. Her husband died Oct. 29, 1964, and she continued working as a dental assistant and at the popcorn wagon until she sold the business in June 1991 after 46 years.

She was very active with the Evangelical Covenant Church, as church organist since 1951 and also as a trustee and Sunday school teacher and with the women's circle. After her retirement she volunteered time at North Country Regional Hospital and also delivered Meals on Wheels. She died Jan 8, 1994 at North Country Regional Hospital.
