Grandpa Richey lost his biological father at an early age. His mother eventually remarried. Alexander E. Richey adopted grandpa & his sister, Virginia. They lived in Oklahoma all their lives. Grandpa married Tina Adeline Markham in Stringtown, OK on March 10, 1933. Together they raised 2 daughters, Teddie Jayne & Virginia Ann. He briefly worked in Washington during WWII and also joined the military group, Seadoo's, working in Spain doing construction. Grandpa was a stern man. He expected to be obeyed & would take a switch if you didn't do as he expected. He loved to camp, fish & hunt. He would take us grandkids out in the boat, letting us chum the water. A catfish dinner with fried okra was our reward.
