Amos was the son of Seth and Sarah "Sally" Allen. He m. (1) Medfield, Mass. 24 April 1858 the much older Sally G. Fuller, b. Dover Mass. 4 May 1801, d. Medway 10 Jan 1875, aged 73, daughter of David Fuller and Sarah Gay; and m. (2) in Medway, Mass. on 19 August 1875 to the widow Mary Jane (Taylor) Fish, whose husband, John Fish, had died in 1872. In 1880 Amos was living in Framingham, Mass. with his wife Jane, and her son Joseph Fish, aged 12. Though he died in Sherborn, MA, he was buried in Dover.
