Mary Louise Johnston Moore, age 87, of Lake Charles, died Friday, June 28, 2013 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, surrounded by her loving family.

Louise was born March 10, 1926 in Leton, Louisiana. She is the daughter of the late Walter Murray Johnston and Ethel Worley Johnston of Leton. She moved to Lake Charles to join her sister at Marge's Beauty Shop, until she opened her own business, Louise's Beauty Shop.

Mrs. Moore is survived by her daughter, Janet Louise Moore Duhy and her husband, Frederick A. Duhy, Jr. of Baton Rouge, her son, Richard Murray Moore of Baton Rouge to whom she dedicated her life, her daughter-in-law, Vicki Poe Moore Thompson of Tulsa, her grandchildren, William Scott Moore, Jr. of Tulsa, Sharon Duplachan Robinson and her husband, Scotty of Lake Charles, Evan Duhy Tran and her husband, Quan, of Tampa, Seth Frederick Duhy of Los Angeles, 4 great grandchildren, Gavin Paul Hymes, Alex Leach-Potts, Jackson Wayne Eubanks, Mason Harlow Moore and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband of 44 years, "Bill", her son, William Scott Moore, Sr., her sisters Bertha Williese Johnston Blackwell of Leton, Margarie Johnston Harlow of Lake Charles, and Norma Johnson Maynor of Princeton, Louisiana.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church.

The family wishes to give thanks to all the loving care given to Louise by her niece, Betty Harlow Anderson and husband, Charlie, her very special private caregivers, the Williamsburg staff and her Generations Hospice staff.

Services will be held at Hixson Funeral Home on Ryan Street, Tuesday, July 2 at 11 am with graveside services following at Prien Memorial Park. Visitation will be at Hixson's, Monday, July 1 from 5 to 8 pm and Tuesday from 9am until services.

Memorial donations can be made to McNeese State University Foundation, Box 91989, Lake Charles, LA 70609 for teachers pursuing special education. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com.
