Opal Mae Parker, age 79, of La Plata, Missouri, passed away Wednesday (March 8, 1995) at Kirksville Osteopathic Medical Center, in Kirksville, Missouri.

Born on September 7, 1915, in Shattuck, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of Curty and Effie (Wiedenkofer) Pope.

Survivors include one son Russell Warren, and his wife Shirley, of Ottawa, Kansas; one stepson Richard Parker of Tucson, Arizona; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; three husbands, Hollis Bunch, Cecil Warren, and Leo Parker; one son Hollis Eugene Bunch; one brother William Pope; and one sister Velma Cassady.

Mrs. Parker had lived in the La Plata area for over fifty years. For a number of years she had owned and operated the Charm Beauty Shop in La Plata, Missouri. She was a member of the Victory Temple Church in La Plata, Missouri.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday (March 11, 1995) at the Travis Funeral Chapel in La Plata, Missouri, with the Reverend Barbara Clifton officiating. Music will be provided by Shirley Dudley and Ruby Steinwinder, vocalists, and Shirley Matticks, organist. Musical selections will be "Life's Railway To Heaven" and " What A Day That Will Be."

Visitation will be from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday (March 10, 1995) at the chapel. Burial will be in the Pinkerton Cemetery, south of Novinger, Missouri.

Pallbearers will be George Rodriguez, Charles Klingsmith, William Cassady, Terry Steinwinder, Tom Ruttinger, and Arthur Sizemore.
