Claire Olivier Dicharry, 93, died Wednesday, March 12, 2008. She was a native of Gramercy and a resident of Baton Rouge.
She is survived by a son, Lionel H. Dicharry Jr.; three daughters, Andree D. Voorhies, Libby D. Heltz and Marcelle D. Delatte; three brothers, Gerald, George and Benjamin Olivier; and sisters-in-law, Hazel Dicharry, Esther, Belle and Mary Olivier. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Christian and Alex Dicharry, Mären Dahlke, Claire and Gwen Voorhies, Ashley H. Miller, Jonathan and Jordan Heltz, and Benjamin, Ryan and David Delatte; and eight great-grandchildren, Marshall, Christian, Jackson, Andrew, Megan, Ryan, Alyssa and Jonathan.
Preceded in death by her husband, Lionel H. Dicharry Sr.; parents, Aglaeé Kroll and Joseph Marcel "J.M." Olivier; and three brothers, Marc, Guy and Pliny Olivier.
She was a teacher with the St. James Parish school system for 30 years. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters and promoter of the Miraculous Medal Association.
Visitation at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Gramercy, on Saturday, March 15, from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Interment in St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery, Paulina. Arrangements by Rose Lynn Funeral Services, Lutcher. .
