Andrée Dicharry Voorhies, 61, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008. She was a resident of Baton Rouge/Metairie and a native of Gramercy.

She is survived by her husband, Daniel W. Voorhies II; two daughters, Claire Andrée Voorhies and Gwendolyn Aimeé Voorhies; brother, Lionel Dicharry Jr. and wife Cathy; and two sisters, Libby Dicharry Heltz and husband Michael, and Marcelle Dicharry Delatte and husband Gerald. She is also survived by a grandchild, Christian Andrew Voorhies; chosen grandsons, Connor Boudreaux and Chance Chighizola; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lionel Dicharry Sr. and Claire Olivier Dicharry.

She was a teacher and graduate of LSU. She loved music, gardening, family and friends.

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Brian Bienvenu and staff of the Louisiana Hematology-Oncology Associates, Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center and Hospice of Baton Rouge for the loving, compassionate care they extended to Andrée.

Visitation will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 616 Main St., Gramercy, on Tuesday, Dec. 9, from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 p.m. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Paulina.
