Miriam Mim Zimmerman

A memorial service for Miriam 'Mim' Zimmerman will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday at Green’s Bellevue Funeral Home. Mrs. Zimmerman, a Bellevue resident, died Thursday in Seattle.
Born in Springfield, Ohio, she graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Illinois with degrees in psychology and interior design. An officer in the US Navy during World War II, she married Hy Zimmerman in 1948. He preceded her in death in 1985.
Mrs. Zimmerman became a community volunteer after her daughter was born. She was a founding member of Alzheimer’s Support and Information Service Team; served as president of the PTA and the National Council of Jewish Women and was a Children’s Orthopedic Hospital Guild member. She was a volunteer occupational therapist at the Caroline Kline Galland Home and was also active in Women in Community Service, Girl Scouts, City of Hope, AARP, and The Golden Age Group of the Jewish Community Center.
Her survivors include her daughter Robin Smith of Bellevue and grandchildren Shaundy and Brian Smith.
The Family suggests remembrances in her name to be made to the City Of Hope or the Girl Scouts Totem Council.
