The cause of Andrew Bates death is unknown. He left a will dated Feb 11, 1843 in which he states he is bodily afflicted and was aware of the fact that he was dying. His last will and testament was duly proven in the Court of Ordinary, Murray Co, GA in the Jan Term of 1844. The executors for his estate were Sarah's father Carey W. Jackson and Sarah's uncle Littleberry Jackson.
