Mrs. Mary Gregersen, 79, a resident of the Soldiers and Sailors Home the past 5 years, died in Pershing Memorial Hospital in Grand Island early Thursday morning. She had been in failing health the past two years.
Funeral services were held Saturday at the Elba E.U.B. church where she had been a member for many years. The Rev. Sam Beckor of the Home and Rev. Hill conducted the services.
Mrs. Gregersen was born in Dannevirke on December 16, 1883 to Nis and Kristine Mortensen. She was married to George Gregersen in 1904 and to this happy union six children were born. Mr. Gregersen died in 1920 while living in Elba. Mrs. Gregersen remained there, working unceasingly to help the family through high school. She assisted in many homes during births and illness. She was a collector of antiques and loved flowers.
She is survived by two sons, Chester and Edward of Junction City, Oregon; four daughters, Mrs. Lena Gribskov of Junction City, Oregon, Mrs. Luella King of Palmer, Mrs. Etta Pearson of Scotia, Mrs. Dores Ewers of Alda; 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
