son of Adam and Mary Shank Beaver, both parents born in Ohio

Charles was the 12th and last child born to Adam Beaver (Beever) and Mary Rhoda Tharp. His mother died 9 days after his birth. He was then taken to live with an aunt, who is believed to be Adam's sister, Elizabeth Boley. He married and had 3 daughters and one son.

Charles and his brother Henry,along with many other family members, had a reunion in Chillicothe, Missouri in July 1938. They had not seen each other for 72 years. They were the only two surviving children out of the twelve. Their father, Adam, remarried [in 1872] after his first wife's death and had three more children, two of whom were surviving and living in the Chillicothe, Mo. area at the time: Maggie Ann McGinity and Audrey Davis. The four children were the only four children surviving out of fifteen.
