Albert Dyer, freight clerk, was a crew-member of the steamer Brother Jonathan. He perished when the Brother Jonathan sank in a storm off Crescent City, California. His body was later recovered and he was buried here.

DESCRIPTION OF BODIES FOUND AND BURIED
Jacksonville (Oregon), August 16th.--The following was received this evening by B. F. Dowell from R. Dugan, of Crescent City:
Through the politeness of our Coroner, J. E. Eldridge, I was permitted to take an abstract from his books of the names and descriptions of the bodies found and buried by him in the city burial grounds from the ill-fated Brother Jonathan to this date as follows:
...No. 15, A. Dwyer [sic, Dyer], freight clerk of the Jonathan;
