SOUTH BEND -- Anne Bird, 84, of St. Paul's Retirement Community, died at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph's Medical Center. Mrs. Bird was a former employee of Madison (Ind.) Bank & Trust Co. She was born Aug. 24 1911, in Booneville, Ind. As Anne Hoover, she married J. Howard Bird. He died in 1993. She is survived by two sisters, Emily H. Hanes of Mishawaka and Jane Whitmer of Dearborn, Mich.; a brother, Guy Hoover of Evansivlle, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Vail-Holt Funeral Home, Madison. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery, Madison. Friends may call after 10 a.m. until services on Friday in the funeral home. Hahn Funeral Home Mishawaka, is in charge of local arrangements.
